Artist Statement

The process of creation can be quite challenging, spanning from the initial spark of an idea to its transformation into a tangible piece. It’s a unique journey filled with mental turmoil. What starts as a seemingly solid concept often evolves dramatically throughout the process. Whether I’m working on a scarf design or an art print, this mental exploration is continuous.

I have a passion for investigating the relationships between colors and how they interact when placed next to each other. Bold, saturated colors play a significant role in my work, often inspired by nature and the organic textures I observe. I like to enrich my canvas with intricate details, believing that more is more when it comes to designing a scarf. Creating contrast is important to me, whether it's juxtaposing organic textures with geometric shapes.

While I produce my art digitally, I typically begin with traditional sketches in a notebook, using pencil to flesh out my ideas. Continuous learning is essential; whether it’s mastering a new traditional technique or exploring digital software, I strive to expand my skills. This commitment leads to the evolution of my art in unpredictable ways, blending planned and spontaneous elements along the way.

Ultimately, my goal is to create works of beauty. When I reach the final stage of a piece, I feel a profound joy that I hope to share with those who engage with my art.

Short Biography

I studied fine arts for many years with the renowned artist Mihail Kamberov in Europe. After graduating and spending a year at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, I relocated to the US, where I earned a BFA in digital arts.

After approximately 15 years in graphic design and marketing, I embraced motherhood. It was during this time that I realized it was the right moment for me to return to being a full-time artist. Art had become the missing piece of my puzzle.
